Terminal A at AUH prioritises passenger experience, delivering a streamlined journey from door to destination. As the main global gateway to Abu Dhabi, it connects the capital of the UAE to more than 100 international destinations and is served by more than 30 international airlines, aided by cutting-edge-technology and biometric solutions that ensuring quick and seamless journeys.
Designed in an X-shape for optimal efficiency and passenger flow, AUH features four themed piers inspired by Abu Dhabi's desert, sea, city and oasis landscapes. It cuts water consumption by 45%, while 7,500 solar panels power a 3MW plant, saving 5,300 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. An Advanced Surface Movement Control System, the first of its kind in the Middle East, enables aircraft to land safely in low-visibility conditions. AUH is also the first airport in the region to receive three ISO and OHSAS certifications, and is certified by the Airports Council International at Level 3 for Customer Experience and Level 2 for Accessibility Enhancement.

One of the largest airport terminals in the world, it is able to process 11,000 passengers per hour, has an annual capacity of 45 million travelers, and hosts 163 food, beverage and retail outlets across 36,000m², with options to suit every taste.
It is also home to the Sana Al Noor art installation, one of the largest public environmental art features in the Middle East.

The US pre-clearance facility was opened at AUH in early 2014 and won an Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance in the Projects Category. The facility is the first of its kind in the Middle East, Asia and Africa, and one of the few worldwide.
The Pre-Clearance Facility allows passengers travelling to the US to complete US immigration, customs and security clearances before departure. Passengers travelling to destinations such as New York, Washington, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles on flights operated by Etihad Airways can take advantage of this exclusive service, avoiding lengthy queues upon arrival in the US.

Located in Zayed International Airport, the breathtaking Sana Al Noor stands 22 metres tall and is one of the largest public environmental art features in the Middle East. Situated between Arrivals and Departures, it comprises 1,632 individually curved 'leaves' of glass, its traditional burjeel design directing air and light between the departures and arrivals levels, improving daylighting and saving energy through natural ventilation techniques.
