Carsten Nørland

Carsten Nørland is the Chief Commercial Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports. A highly accomplished executive with extensive experience in sales, operations, and commercial leadership across the B2B and B2C segments. Most recently, he served as CEO of Scandlines A/S, where he oversaw ferry operations between Denmark and Germany and the world’s largest Bordershops. Under his leadership, the company achieved significant transformation, posting record freight and leisure volumes and improved profitability.

Prior to this, Carsten held senior leadership roles at Copenhagen Airport as Senior Vice President of Market & Sales. He consistently delivered growth through a deep focus on customer insight, team development, and commercial excellence. His early career included transformative roles at DAY-system and MasterFoods (Mars), where he led market turnarounds and category expansion.

Carsten is known for his ability to drive cultural change and commercial performance in complex, fast-paced environments. He holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School and has held board positions at Brussels Airport, Dansk Retursystem, and Århus Elite Football Club.
