The conference programme for ACI Exchange 2019, hosted this week in Abu Dhabi by Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), has drawn to a close with the two-day agenda dominated by issues relating to sustainability and technology.

Today’s conferences included a Middle East Leaders Masterclass with speakers from around the GCC, discussions on the benefits of remote towers, dealing with airport drone incursions, and a closing keynote from Martin Bowman, General Manager - Aviation Products for McLaren Deloitte Alliance, who showed how leading airports and airlines can deliver superior performance in aviation.

Abu Dhabi Airports Company CEO Bryan Thompson thanked delegates for attending and the 120 speakers for sharing their insights. “I’m delighted that we could give our international guests a taste of Abu Dhabi’s famed hospitality, and we look forward to welcoming them back at our new home at the Midfield Terminal Building,” he said.

Yesterday, ADAC gave media updates to its Midfield Terminal project, which executives said will set the benchmark for all airports over the next 20 years. The soon-to-open terminal covers a floor area of 742,000sqm and is a design showpiece inside and out. The terminal will play a key role in meeting future growth and capacity needs, and help drive forward the UAE’s travel and tourism sector.
